How does the laser remove a tattoo?

Tattoo removal without scarring can be done by using laser technology, which is based on the so-called selective fotocavitation. This name derives from the fact that the laser beam acts selectively on tattoo pigment, without hurting the surrounding tissue. The wavelength and frequency of the laser beam, allows us to „break“ the pigment granules, located in the epidermal-dermal layers of the skin, into smaller particles. Then, after the treatment, the active period starts, which lasts 3 – 4 weeks. During this time, the pigment microparticles are removed through the lymphatic system.
